About the Office:
Employment Opportunities > Law Clerk Program
Each year the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office employs an average of 24 law clerks. Four departments within the Attorney General’s Office utilize law clerks throughout the year – Civil, Criminal, Medicaid and Public Protection. Typically, each department has two law clerks in the fall, two law clerks in the spring and two law clerks during the summer.
The Attorney General strives to give Arkansas law students the first opportunity to clerk with the office by interviewing students on the two law school campuses in the state. During the fall, the Attorney General’s Office sends one attorney representative to the University of Arkansas School of Law campus in Fayetteville to interview students for clerkships with the Attorney General’s Office for the following summer. Four attorneys, one from each of the four departments that employ law clerks, interview students on the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law campus in Little Rock during the spring semester for clerkships during the following fall and spring semesters. Interviews on the law school campuses are coordinated with the Career Services Offices of each campus. Positions not filled through this process may then be opened to students from universities outside of Arkansas.
In-state students interested in clerkships with the Attorney General’s Office should sign up for an interview through their Career Services Office when interview dates are posted at the law school. Out-of-state students may mail or fax a resume and cover letter to:
