About the Office:

What We Do > Public Protection Department > Antitrust Division

The Antitrust Division of the Office investigates and prosecutes alleged violations of the state and federal antitrust laws. Antitrust laws are designed to promote healthy competition among businesses and thereby ensure consumer choice. These laws are premised on two basic requirements: companies cannot agree to limit competition in ways that hurt consumers; and a single company cannot monopolize or try to monopolize an industry through unfair practices. The Arkansas Antitrust Division has been actively involved in several multi-state actions resulting in the recovery of millions of dollars for the benefit of Arkansas consumers.
