Identity theft is a common and frightening problem for consumers. ID theft occurs when keys pieces of personal information like credit cards, driver’s licenses, ATM cards and Social Security numbers are wrongfully obtained and misused. There are more than 11 million cases of identity theft every year in the United States, and this number continues to grow.
