Attorney General, ABC, Law Enforcement, and Educators Partner
with Alcohol Safety Network in Awareness Effort
With new laws that increase the penalties for underage drinking
taking effect in July 2005, The Arkansas Attorney General announced
that his agency is joining with the Alcohol Safety Network, the
Alcohol Beverage Control Division of DF&A, law enforcement
and parent-teacher groups to implement an awareness campaign
to prevent underage drinking that targets middle-school students.
“Underage drinking continues to be a troubling and growing
reality in our state,” The Attorney General said. We want
young teens to know, in advance, about the consequences of underage
drinking, and we want to give parents the tools to discuss this
important issue with their children. We are proud to be working
with the Alcohol Safety Network on such a critical issue.”
