Learn the ABC's of Safety!
a
My parents always know where I am and who I'm with. They know the full names and addresses of all my friends and I always ask for permission before going somewhere.
b
I never talk to strangers or go near their cars, even if they ask for help. Just because someone knows my name or sees me every day doesn't mean that they aren't a stranger.
c
I always use the buddy system when playing or going from place to place. If I ever change my plans I always tell my parents or another trusted adult.
d
I don't keep secrets from my parents, even if another adult has asked me to. If something happens to me that makes me feel uncomfortable, I'm not afraid to tell.
e
I have permission from my parents to say "NO" to an adult. I am respectful but I don't have to do things that frighten, hurt or embarrass me.
f
I know my parents' full names. I have memorized my street address, phone number, and area code. I know how to use a pay phone and can make a collect call in an emergency.
